Pools Sign Dementia Friends Charter

Pools underlined their commitment to working with those living with dementia in our community by signing a Dementia Friendly Charter on Saturday.
Club Chairman Gary Coxall was joined by Andrew Ball from Alzheimer’s Society in signing the Charter, which was also witnessed by several guests from Dementia Friendly Hartlepool and Alzheimer’s Society.

Earlier this season, the Club organised a Dementia Friends session at the stadium which helped give key staff the information required to help them better serve Pools fans living with dementia.

Successful Dementia Friends session held at Juniper House, in St John's care home

WORCESTERSHIRE volunteers have gained a better understanding of dementia follow a free Dementia Friends session.
A session was organised at Sanctuary Care home Juniper House, in St John's earlier this March, providing an insight into what life is like caring for a loved one living with dementia.

The Dementia Friends initiative, run by the Alzheimer’s Society, sees volunteers learn and appreciate the small things they can do, within their community or in their future jobs, that can make a huge difference to the lives of people living with dementia.

Ipswich mayor Roger Ferm gives law firm staff dementia session

Ipswich solicitors Gotelee have received a dementia session from the mayor of Ipswich, Roger Fern. Roger is a volunteer for Ipswich Dementia Action Alliance and is dementia champion for the charity. He has a passion to involve as many Ipswich businesses and get them committed to being Dementia Friends.

The team of solicitors and support staff gave up their lunch hour to attend a dementia session which included activities and games. The session took an hour and covered the essential points that would assist a dementia client and their family. Staff that took part signed a commitment card to become Dementia Friends.
