Thank you to Jordan for sharing this moving poem. Jordan told us: “My mamma inspired the poem and it’s written from one of the last conversations I had with her, as she replied with 'I don’t know, but I love you'.

I thought of all these things I could have asked her, and she wouldn’t have known the answer to. It was enough for me to hold on to the fact I knew she still loved me.”

I don't know, but I love you.

By Jordan Britt

What is my name?

I don't know, but I love you.

How old am I?

I don't know, but I love you.

Who am I to you?

I don't know, but I love you.

I am a person to you. I am just another being,

you have no memory of me, I don't like this feeling.

You forget me piece by piece.

Your eyes don't light up anymore.

When you see me come and say hello,

when I walk through the door.

Remember when we did this?

I don't remember, but I love you

Remember when you taught me that?

I don't remember, but I love you

Remember when you made me laugh?

I don't remember, but I love you

You don't remember what we did

But we did so much together

I'll always have my memories with you, pictures and videos I'll look back on whenever

Do you love me?

Of course. I'll love you forever.
