To mark the final day of Dementia Action Week we thought we'd share a second, bonus story with you from one of our Dementia Friends.

Rosemary support her mother who is living with dementia as well as another lady in her area. She shared this lovely story with us:

'I take my Mother out once a week to meet up with a group called Active Minds in sheltered housing. A volunteer from Alzheimer's Society hosts with coffee and biscuits, chat, seated exercises and songs from the past. My Mother loves to sing - they call her the song bird! She is always happy if singing even though not sure of time or place. Afterwards we go out for a snack in a local park.

'I also visit an 85 year old lady once a week. I play her the whole church service and she is happy to sit and absorb even though she isn't conversing any more and no longer sings the words, she will still hum hymn tunes and is content.'
