Meet Brian - Dementia Friends Ambassador, and passionate volunteer, who is proving that age is no barrier to making a difference!
Brian, 86, recently completed a 15,000-foot skydive to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Society.
“This is my fourth skydive! While I skydive for the excitement and pleasure it provides me, my key reason is that it is a good story to help me fundraise for Alzheimer’s Society, and ultimately those living with dementia and their carers."
Brian is passionate about raising awareness, and supporting those affected by dementia. While helping to care for his long-standing friend Alan, who lived with dementia, Brian was inspired to become a Dementia Friend. Later, he went on to become a Dementia Friends Ambassador, helping to create hundreds of Dementia Friends in his community.
From being a Companion Caller and Side-by-side volunteer, to supporting Alzheimer’s Society events and initiatives, Brian has given his time and energy in countless ways.
