In light of the Government's advice on Covid-19, we wanted to let you know what we have been doing and the decisions we are taking to implement the advice on Coronavirus effectively.

We have been monitoring the situation carefully and given the latest guidance on social distancing we are recommending that all Dementia Friends Information Sessions are suspended until the end of April. The picture is changing daily and we’ll keep you up to date with our latest advice but for now we are strongly advising all upcoming Dementia Friends Sessions in that time to be postponed.

You’ve already done so much to reduce social isolation for people affected by dementia so thank you for your contribution. The offers of further support have been amazing to see. We’re looking for ways that as a collective group we can all use our expertise to continue supporting the community and reach people affected by dementia to support them through the next few weeks and months. We'll have more information soon about how you can be part of this.

In the meantime, you can still become Dementia Friends through our online or organisation routes.

There is also some useful practical advice on Coronavirus on Alzheimer’s Society’s blog and regular updates on our social media channels. Please remember for people affected by dementia our National Dementia Helpline number is 0300 222 1122 for advice and support.

Please do get in touch with any questions via email at dementiafriends@alzheimers.org.uk

We’ll be in touch again very soon so look out for that, as we’ll be asking for your support.
