Anyone of any age can be a Dementia Friend - we want school children and young people to be involved, as well as older people.
You don't need any previous experience or knowledge of dementia to be a Dementia Friend. You do need to want to know a little bit more about what it's like to live with dementia and then turn that understanding into something that could make a difference to people with dementia living in your community.
Please join us by becoming a Dementia Friend through the online video or by attending a local Information Session. Together, we can create more dementia friendly communities.
You can become a Dementia Friend by watching our online video where you will meet Teresa, Emma and Alex who are living with dementia and learn more about what it is like to live with the condition.
Attend an Information Session
Information Sessions are run by Dementia Friends Champions to help you understand what it's like to live with dementia and the actions you can take. Search for your nearest Information Session.
Please note - Friends Information Sessions promoted on this website are only suitable for people aged under 18 if they are accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. If you work with children and young people and would like them to become Dementia Friends, please get involved by volunteering as a Dementia Friends Champion.
If you have already attended an Information Session please login and tell us about your action.
If you want to know about other ways that you can help, please read on.
